Jennings grew up in Seattle, Seoul, and Singapore, and has since lived in Spain and Salt Lake City. Jennings attended college at Brigham Young University (BYU), where he received degrees in computer science and English. He was also on BYU's quiz bowl team for three years.

Ken first appeared on Jeopardy on June 3, 2004. This appearance commenced Jenning’s amazing 74-game winning streak, during which he broke almost every record in game show history, winning a total of $2,520,700. Jennings currently is a software engineer for CHG, a healthcare-placement firm, and lives in Murray, Utah, with his wife, Mindy, and son, Dylan.
